Liga Mini is renamed Liga Neno and aims to celebrate the great celebration of youth football in Guimarães involving children between 5 and 11 years old and with the definition of the Fair-Play ranking.
On the initiative of the Municipality of Guimarães and the Tempo Livre, Liga Mini will be renamed Liga Neno in honor of the former goalkeeper of Vitória Sport Clube.
According to the City Councilor of Guimarães, Nelson Felgueiras, “the attribution of the name Neno to the Mini League aims to recognize the nobility of spirit and the character that the former player put at the service of sport in general and football in particular. With this tribute, we intend to repay the generosity, commitment and collaboration that he so affectionately gave to the sporting cause in Guimarães”.

Neno was the great ambassador of fair play and sporting ethics and his example is the best legacy that can be handed on to future generations. His human stature turned him into a guardian of values and principles that, with this tribute, they intend to perpetuate. Liga Neno thus constitutes a well-founded hope that the altruism of the former goalkeeper and the love he dedicated to sport will inspire many children and young people from Guimarães.
Liga Mini is an initiative that celebrates the great celebration of youth football in Guimarães involving children between 5 and 11 years old. One of the novelties in this year's edition will be the creation of a Walking Football exhibition, allowing its dissemination and promotion among the clubs. The Fair-Play Ranking in Liga Neno will also be implemented, which will define the allocation of the Fair-Play prize in the amount of 500 euros.
The 2022 edition will start in March, with the participation of girls in the promotion of gender equality and, as has happened in the past, there will be no winners or losers. It will, after all, be a full-fledged Neno League, in which the pleasure and joy of playing football will represent the great trophy to be distributed to all.
Applications must be made by March 4th.
